Hey everybody! This is the group blog of group no. 1 from Norway, which consists of Julie, Charlotte, Dorthe and Aina. We're 17 years old, and in our second year at Arna Vocational School. Being students at a vocational school means that we're attendting a certain line of study, in this case, we're attendting a line of study called "health worker". Here, we learn a lot about illnesses and people around us, which we find very interesting, since we're all planning to get an education within this area. Our class consists of 15 students, where as many as 14 of them are girls. We find this very fun, and have a very nice class enviroment. When it comes to this VAGAB project, we're hoping to be able to give as many updates as possible on what we do in ouv everyday lives here in Norway. We also want to post many pictures, because our personal opinion is that it's a lot more fun to look at pictures than reading a lot of text. We hope you like our blog, and we're really looking forward getting to know you, and to your visit in November! If you got any questions, just write a comment here or send us a messae on Facebook, and we'll try to answer anything :D XOXO- Julie, Aina, Dorthe and Charlotte!

Our Parents education

We interviewed our parents about what they did when they were young, what school they went to, and what was normal to do when they were young.

We found out that in the 70’s and 80’s it was normal to go two years at school and work after that. It wasn’t normal to finish their education, because to get a job you didn’t have to have an education. So many of our parents had to finish their education later, because the rules changed, and to get a job they needed education.

It was normal to get married early, and to start a family.
Our parents, started a family when they where about 18 years old, today, that isn’t that normal, today it’s more normal to start a family later, when your about 25 or something like that.

Today it is normal to have a longer education, normally around four to five years, after high school. The longer you go to school, the better education you get, and better jobs and paying.
