Hey everybody! This is the group blog of group no. 1 from Norway, which consists of Julie, Charlotte, Dorthe and Aina. We're 17 years old, and in our second year at Arna Vocational School. Being students at a vocational school means that we're attendting a certain line of study, in this case, we're attendting a line of study called "health worker". Here, we learn a lot about illnesses and people around us, which we find very interesting, since we're all planning to get an education within this area. Our class consists of 15 students, where as many as 14 of them are girls. We find this very fun, and have a very nice class enviroment. When it comes to this VAGAB project, we're hoping to be able to give as many updates as possible on what we do in ouv everyday lives here in Norway. We also want to post many pictures, because our personal opinion is that it's a lot more fun to look at pictures than reading a lot of text. We hope you like our blog, and we're really looking forward getting to know you, and to your visit in November! If you got any questions, just write a comment here or send us a messae on Facebook, and we'll try to answer anything :D XOXO- Julie, Aina, Dorthe and Charlotte!

Hello everyone!

My name is Aina and I’m sixteen years old, turning seventeen this November. I also live on Osterøy. This is Europe’s largest inlands island.
I would describe my self as an outgoing, nice and active person who likes getting to know new people.
Like Dorthe and Charlotte, for me it’s also 50 minutes with bus to the school. Sometimes I drive my scooter when I don’t take the bus.

I also go to school in Arna which is not far from Bergen. I go on health worker line and I think it’s really fun because of all the things we learn and since I want to be a nurse.

I have two younger sisters and one younger brother. At my dad, I also have one stepmother, one stepbrother and one stepsister. At my mum, I have one stepdad. But I don’t live at home any longer, because I’ve got my own apartment.

In my spare time I like playing football, listen to music, go shopping and being with friend. I play on the same team as Julie, Arna Bjørnar. I’ve played football since 3. grade so I like it really much.

In the weekends I like going out with my friends and do something fun. I really don’t like sitting at home.
I also work at a restaurant, called Camilla’s Kro. We have everything from fish to beef and hamburgers.

So that’s me. If there’s something else you want to know, just ask me on facebook or leave a comment here. J

Cya guys!

Bergen - The city between the seven mountains

Bergen is the second largest city in Norway with a population of 259,200. Bergen is located in the county of Hordaland on the south-western coast of Norway. The city of Bergen, traditionally thought to have been founded by king Olav Kyrre, son of Harald Hardråde in 1070 four years after the Viking Age ended.

Bergen's city centre is situated among a group of mountains known collectively as de syv fjell (the seven mountains), including the mountains Ulriken, Fløyen, Løvstakken and Damsgårdsfjellet.
These seven mountains are, however, only a few of the mountains located within the borders of the Bergen municipality. Gullfjellet is the highest mountain in Bergen, at 987 metres above sea level.
Bergen borders the municipalities Meland, Lindås and Osterøy to the north, Vaksdal and Samnanger to the east, Os and Austevoll to the south, and Sund, Fjell and Askøy to the west.

"Fløibanen" in Bergen is one of Norway's most famous attractions.
The difference in height between the lower and upper station is 302 meters

This is me, Dorthe ;)

Hey there people! :)

My name is Dorthe, and I am a seventeen years old girl from Bergen in Norway.
I would describe myself as an outgoing, kind, active and funny girl.
For me it takes about 50 minutes, with the bus, to the school. I live on the Northern Europe's largest inland island, called “Osterøy”.
I go to school in Arna, near Bergen. This school is a vocational school, and I go on health worker line. I go to this school because I want to become a nurse or an ambulance driver when I grow up.

I have two older brothers who are 19 and 21 years old. My oldest brother doesn’t live at home anymore, and the other one is in the military.
So right now, in my house, there’s just me, my mum and dad.
I also have a niece, and she is turning 1 year in January. :)

me and my niece :)

In my spare time I like to play soccer, play the guitar and sing along, listen to music and hanging out with friends. In the weekend I don’t like to just sit at home, I like to go out with my friends and do something fun! And in the wintertime i like to go skiing! :)

I play soccer on a girlteam called “osterøy”, and I enjoy playing football, I think its social, and its fun to be together with all of my friends.
Beside that I have a job in a clothing store at Osterøy.

 This is my soccerteam :)

So this is it ;)
If there is anything more you would like to know, it’s just to ask me on facebook, or leave a comment here. I try to respond as fast as I can, and as best as I can! :)

Hello everybody :D

Heyhey ! :D

I'm Julie, and I’m a sixteen year old girl from Bergen in Norway, turning seventeen this December.
I would describe myself as an outgoing, nice, kind, impatient, active and funny girl.
I live 5 minutes away from school, if I take the bus, that is. Therefore, I like to say that I live very central, but my friends think of it as “the countryside”, because there isn’t that many houses where I live, and because in the summer there’s bigger opportunities to meet a tractor than an ordinary car. There’s also a lot of sheep and cows here in the summer, so I guess they got a point when they say I live in the country, but I like it. It’s quiet and nice here, and if it’s too quiet, there isn’t any problem to get away; the buses go every half hour.

I have one older brother, who is 24 years old, and two sisters who are 20 and 13 years old.
I’ve also got a sweet “little” dog, which is 10 years old.
My older sister and brother don’t live at home any longer, so at my house, I live with my mum, dad, little sister and my dog.

In my spare time, I like playing football. I play on a team called Arna-Bjørnar, I think it’s very fun. I’m also a huge Liverpool fan, so when they have a match, I try to see it if I have the time, but I’m afraid I usually don’t, because of all my working and my own “professional” football playing. However, I’m updated about every match they have.
In 2009 I actually was in Liverpool and watched a game at Anfield, a pretty cool experience.

Beside from school and football, I’ve also got a job at a grocery store.
I’m working 1-2 days a week after school, and sometimes in the weekends. I think that it is very nice to earn a little money myself this early in life, so I can save them and have money when I need it.
When I’m not working late in the weekends, I’m usually hanging out with my friends and just being social. I’m not that kind of person that thinks it’s fun to watch TV on a Saturday night, then I rather prefer to call some friends and do something J

So, this is what I think is to know about me.!
If you have any questions, just write a comment or write on facebook, and then I’ll try to answer as fast as I can J

CYA GUYS :D

School kitchen, Wednesday 22.09.2010

Here is picture from our school kitchen, where we are making food each wednesday.
In our class, we are fifteen students, so we are working in groups with five persons in each group.
All the students love this day, because in our class wednesday means good food :)

Wednesday 22.09.2010(when this picture where taken), we made "fårikal". That is a very traditional meal in Norway. It is lamb, cabbage and potatoes, very good!
We also made Applecake and ate it with vanilla ice for dessert, yuummmi<3
