Hey everybody! This is the group blog of group no. 1 from Norway, which consists of Julie, Charlotte, Dorthe and Aina. We're 17 years old, and in our second year at Arna Vocational School. Being students at a vocational school means that we're attendting a certain line of study, in this case, we're attendting a line of study called "health worker". Here, we learn a lot about illnesses and people around us, which we find very interesting, since we're all planning to get an education within this area. Our class consists of 15 students, where as many as 14 of them are girls. We find this very fun, and have a very nice class enviroment. When it comes to this VAGAB project, we're hoping to be able to give as many updates as possible on what we do in ouv everyday lives here in Norway. We also want to post many pictures, because our personal opinion is that it's a lot more fun to look at pictures than reading a lot of text. We hope you like our blog, and we're really looking forward getting to know you, and to your visit in November! If you got any questions, just write a comment here or send us a messae on Facebook, and we'll try to answer anything :D XOXO- Julie, Aina, Dorthe and Charlotte!

Bergen - The city between the seven mountains

Bergen is the second largest city in Norway with a population of 259,200. Bergen is located in the county of Hordaland on the south-western coast of Norway. The city of Bergen, traditionally thought to have been founded by king Olav Kyrre, son of Harald Hardråde in 1070 four years after the Viking Age ended.

Bergen's city centre is situated among a group of mountains known collectively as de syv fjell (the seven mountains), including the mountains Ulriken, Fløyen, Løvstakken and Damsgårdsfjellet.
These seven mountains are, however, only a few of the mountains located within the borders of the Bergen municipality. Gullfjellet is the highest mountain in Bergen, at 987 metres above sea level.
Bergen borders the municipalities Meland, Lindås and Osterøy to the north, Vaksdal and Samnanger to the east, Os and Austevoll to the south, and Sund, Fjell and Askøy to the west.

"Fløibanen" in Bergen is one of Norway's most famous attractions.
The difference in height between the lower and upper station is 302 meters
